Love is a universal language and regardless how you say ‘I love you’, it’s how you feel that validates this sentiment (ok, some sound sweeter than others – sorry to the German-speakers out there…). We say the same goes for the Flu. There are universal feelings and symptoms that come with the Flu and we must all understand them to be more Fluent when we are about to celebrate the Flu.
Remember, it is not just how you say ‘Atchooooo’. It’s how you feel when you are about to welcome the Flu that we want to explore. Because, if you are going to get it anyway, it’s all about embracing it! But we can’t do this, without acknowledging those very symptoms – often going unnoticed – that signal the imminent arrival of The Flu.
Here’s our pick of the ‘10 Symptoms that Precede A Homecoming Flu’:
- Itchy eyes
- Blocked nose
- Sore throat
- Lack of appetite
- Mild fever
- Wanting to sleeeeeppppppppp
No matter how you call any of these symptoms in your own language, they feel the same. Whether you are American or Filipino, black or white, gay or straight, female or male… (there is, of course, ‘man-flu’… but this deserves its own blog)… We are all Fluent.
So, help us create Fluency.
Have we missed any important Preceding Symptom of the Homecoming Flu? And how do you greet the Flu and say Atchooo in your language?
